Diamniadio, January 12 (APS) – ASEC Abidjan no longer controls its destiny but will do everything to have a “best possible result” during the last day of the group stage of the African Football Confederation Cup (CAF), declared his trainer Julien Chevallier on Sunday.
» We no longer have our destiny in our hands. It’s a disappointment today, we showed too many limits in this meeting, which puts us in difficulty,” he said at a press conference.
Jaraaf beat ASEC Abidjan (1-0) in a match counting for the 5th day of the African Football Confederation Cup (CAF).
With this second defeat, ASEC loses second place in Group C.
The Ivorians are obliged to beat the red lantern Opara United of Botswana on the last day and hope for a misstep by Jaraaf in Algeria against USM Alger.
» Nothing is finished, we still have one match left for four teams in the group. We will have to achieve the best possible result and follow the results of others,” underlined the French technician.
He regretted his team’s shortcomings during away matches.
