Morocco has taken a major step forward in the field of transport infrastructure with the inauguration of the last section of the Tiznit-Dakhla highway, a mammoth project with a length of 1,055 kilometers. This major achievement, which required a decade of work, notably includes a 114-kilometer section linking Maader, located near Tiznit, to Guelmin, via Sidi Ifni.

The completion of this ultra-modern road, supervised by Dakhla Invest, marks a strategic step forward in the economic development of the region. Although the last portion of the track was completed in November 2024, the Moroccan authorities chose to keep the section closed for a few additional months in order to refine the installation of signage and carry out the final finishing touches.

This colossal project, which aims to strengthen connectivity and facilitate accessibility between the southern coastal areas and the interior of the kingdom, constitutes a vital axis for the transport of goods and passengers. The highway, now fully functional, thus contributes to the growth of economic exchanges and the integration of the Saharan regions into the national economy. In addition, this infrastructure presents itself as a central element in the development of the Dakhla region, in accordance with Morocco’s sustainable development objectives.
