You were playing for victory then suddenly you found yourself far behind, what happened?
There must have been five of us playing for victory and I fell on the way down the stairs. It took my breath away for two or three minutes then my chain jammed so I had to bring it all back up on foot. I still tried to give everything at the end of the race. I had already fallen stupidly between the boards (just after attacking), but that didn’t take me out of my race.
So far, you seemed very strong…
I believed it, I saw that I had great legs, that I was hurting them in certain parts. For me, I had the means to reach the podium, or even the victory, so it’s frustrating. Everything happened very quickly, I was a little disoriented. On a circuit where it goes so fast, even if we started straight away it would have been complicated to get back on track.
You seem extremely disappointed…
This is my biggest disappointment on the bike. This is perhaps one of the races where I felt the best since I started riding and at least this season. Even in the technical parts, I managed to stay fluid and in the bumps, I put on power without putting myself in the red. When I attacked, I wanted to put it back on the road to put pressure on and widen the gap.
