Mixed cross-border patrol operations carried out jointly by the military units of Kolda and Gambia ended during a ceremony organized in Vélingara. These operations, which began on January 9 and 10, marked a security cooperation effort between the two nations. The Department of Public Relations of the Armed Forces (DIRPA) reported on this event in an official press release.
According to information obtained via the Sud Quotidien website, the closing of these patrols took place in the presence of the administrative authorities of the two countries. The two armies visited 13 villages located on both sides of the border, distributing food and medicine kits to local populations, as specified by DIRPA.
