Another great performance for the French biathlon team during the single mixed relay of the World Cup stage in Oberhof in Germany.
France takes a new podium with a 2nd place behind Finland.
The French composition for the single mixed relay was unprecedented with the two winners of the Oberhof sprint, Paula Botet et Quentin Fillon Maillet.
From her first stage in the World Cup this season, Paula Botet confirmed her potential with a new podium, attracting the compliments of her partner of the day, Quentin Fillon Maillet.
“I had fun and there were some great things. Paula is doing a great race too. She won the sprint like me, so I’m not going to start giving her advice (laughs). She did the beautiful biathlon that she knows how to do,” he declared after the race in The L’Équipe Channel.
Finland achieves historic success. This is the third victory in all relays for Finland, the first since 1989. After the race, Suvi Minkkinen confided that she had been inspired by Lou Jeanmonnot’s success in the pursuit yesterday. During the last shot, the Finn said to herself “be like Lou Jeannmonnot” before shooting.
A thought that brought him an exceptional victory.
Germany of Justus Strelow et Selina Grotianat home, completes the podium.
