The Valencia 10 km once again did not usurp its reputation as the fastest 10 km in Europe.

This Sunday morning, the Swede Andreas Almgren, after an extraordinary finish, won to set a new European record in a time of 26.52.

It erases from the shelves the time of the Frenchman Etienne Daguinos (27.04) carried out in last November.

“I knew I was in good shape”declared the Swede after the finish. “I’m so happy to have achieved this here. I worked as hard as I could. I had good feelings and I waited for the last few hundred meters to make this last effort and make the difference.”
