The year 2024 marked remarkable progress for Marrakech crafts, with exports reaching 458.5 million dirhams. This figure represents an increase of 41% compared to 2023, when exports amounted to 325.14 million dirhams. This performance strengthens the position of the Ocher city as a key player in craftsmanship on a national scale.
Carpets, pottery, copper and wooden objects dominated exports, accounting alone for more than 60% of exported products. This diversity illustrates the attractiveness and richness of Moroccan artisanal know-how.
The United States established itself as the main market, with 187 million dirhams of imported products, or nearly 20% of total exports. France, with a share of 9%, and Arab countries, representing 3%, follow in the ranking of main destinations.
This growth is driven by growing demand in several international markets. Exports to the United States increased by more than 80%, while those to Spain and the Arab countries recorded an increase of 61%.
-According to the Regional Directorate of Crafts and Social and Solidarity Economy of Marrakech-Safi, these results reflect not only the excellence of local artisans, but also the rise of Moroccan craftsmanship on the international scene.
