Morocco’s support for Spain, following the floods that affected the Iberian neighbor, illustrates the “depth of relations between the two friendly and brotherly countries”, underlined, Wednesday, the Spanish Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska .
In a video broadcast during the ceremony organized in Valencia by the Spanish authorities to mark the end of the mission of the Moroccan contingent, Mr. Marlaska praised the exceptional commitment of the Moroccan teams deployed urgently, in accordance with the High Instructions of His Majesty the King Mohammed VI, to support relief efforts in the Valencia region, stressing that Spain will always remember with gratitude this “valuable assistance” in a time of great distress.
He also highlighted the importance of this solidarity, thanks to which 103 Moroccan agents made “a significant contribution” to the rehabilitation of the affected areas. These teams treated more than 350 kilometers of network and cleared 200 garages, providing “valuable help” to the resumption of local activities, he said. “Your hard work, commitment and generosity have left an indelible mark in the hearts of Spaniards. Spain will always remember this fraternal help and this exemplary cooperation,” declared Mr. Marlaska. The ceremony brought together several Spanish officials, including representatives of local authorities, elected officials and members of civil protection, who unanimously expressed their gratitude to the Kingdom for this valuable aid.
