Dakar, Jan 9 (APS) – The President of the Republic asked the government, during the Council of Ministers on Wednesday, January 8, to continue the efforts made to consolidate public finances.
”The Head of State urged the government to continue efforts to consolidate public finances, control public spending and, above all, fight against the high cost of living and the rise in prices of approved products”, announced the press release from the Council of Ministers.
This sanitation will be achieved by strengthening the food sovereignty policy and the ”revision” of the country’s supply system for hydrocarbons, foodstuffs and everyday consumer products, according to the same source.
”Primary importance will be given to the revival of the national economy,” assures the Minister of Vocational Training and government spokesperson, Amadou Moustapha Njekk Sarré.
He adds, in the press release from the Council of Ministers, that this recovery will depend on the improvement of the business environment, the development of the local private sector, “with the promotion of national industrial champions”, and “the rise of productive investment”.
The national economy cannot be dynamic without innovative financing and rapid execution of priority projects, in all sectors, according to the same source.
