The first lady of Senegal, Marie Khone Faye, is chairing the national girls’ education day this Thursday at CICAD (Diamniadio). This day of reflection on the promotion of girls’ education is an opportunity for the sponsor of this edition to launch the “Senegal educates its girls” and “Priority Equality Initiative” campaigns.
“I am committed to your side so that all girls are in school and thrive in a safe, secure and inclusive school environment,” she declared. Marie Hone Faye launched an appeal, “to everyone”, to succeed in this challenge of the educational society “that we want to build”. “The girls invite us,” she said. “From this podium, I solemnly undertake to advocate for the promotion of girls’ education in Senegal and in the world,” she added. And to congratulate the Minister of Education for having launched the campaign “Senegal educates its girls” and the “Priority Equality Initiative” which, according to her, reflect “our ambitions and promote inclusive and quality education”.
