TotalEnergies Renewables Distributed Generation has commissioned photovoltaic systems at five Safran sites in Morocco.
These installations will make it possible to produce 2,400 MWh of renewable energy per year, thus contributing to reducing the carbon footprint of the sites concerned.
The five sites in question include Matis Aerospace, a joint venture between Safran Electrical & Power and Boeing, as well as Safran Aircraft Engines Services Maroc, Safran Electronics & Defense, Safran Engineering Services Maroc, and Safran Aerosystems Maroc. This initiative is part of Safran’s desire to reduce its environmental footprint and increase its energy efficiency, in line with the group’s overall objectives to adopt sustainable energy solutions.

The project, led by TotalEnergies Renewables Distributed Generation, saw the installation of 2,600 solar panels, covering approximately 30% of the annual electricity needs of these sites. Thanks to this initiative, Safran will be able to save nearly 1,700 tonnes of CO₂ each year. TotalEnergies provided the design, installation and commissioning of the photovoltaic systems, thus guaranteeing optimal energy performance and long-term reliability.

For her part, Nathalie Stubler, Group Sustainable Development Director at Safran, stressed that this collaboration with TotalEnergies reinforces the group’s commitment to energy efficiency, particularly on its Moroccan sites. “This initiative is part of our overall strategy to reduce our carbon footprint,” she added.
