PM to hold nationwide dialogue with farmers

Prime Minister (PM) Pham Minh Chinh has just accepted a proposal from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers Union regarding the organization of its dialogue with farmers in 2024, according to a dispatch from the Government Office.

The Prime Minister also instructed the Ministries of Agriculture and Rural Development, Planning and Investment, Finance, Natural Resources and Environment, Science and Technology, Industry and Commerce , Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the State Bank of Vietnam to prepare content regarding issues to be raised by farmers and cooperatives, in accordance with their authorities , functions and tasks respective.

Previously, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers Union submitted a report on organizing the 2024 dialogue to the Prime Minister.

On the eve of the dialogue, chairmen of People's Committees from most provinces and cities held meetings with farmers to address issues of concern to farmers, cooperatives and businesses in the agricultural sector.

The Prime Minister's dialogue with farmers across the country has taken place every year since 2018, with the exception of 2021 due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
