In a video broadcast during the ceremony organized at Valence by the Spanish authorities to mark the end of the mission of the Moroccan contingent, Fernando Grande-Marlaska praised the exceptional commitment of the Moroccan teams deployed urgently, in accordance with the high instructions of King Mohammed VI, to support relief efforts in the Valencia region, stressing that Spain will always remember with gratitude this “precious assistance” in a time of great distress.
He also highlighted the importance of this solidarity, thanks to which 103 Moroccan agents made “a significant contribution” to the rehabilitation of the affected areas.
These teams treated more than 350 kilometers of network and cleared 200 garagesproviding “valuable help” to the resumption of local activities, he said.

The ceremony brought together several Spanish officials, including representatives of local authorities, elected officials and members of civil protection, who unanimously expressed their gratitude to the Kingdom for this valuable aid.
In a statement to MAP, the Director General of Civil Protection, Virginia Barconesexpressed his deep gratitude to King Mohammed VI for the “determining and effective” support provided by Morocco to the relief operations carried out in the Valencia region.

Highlighting the responsiveness and effectiveness of the resources mobilized by the Kingdom in support of the intervention teams, Ms. Barcones affirmed that “this gesture embodies exemplary solidarity and testifies to the solidity of the partnership between Spain and Morocco.”
The ceremony was also marked by the presentation of certificates of recognition to members of the Moroccan contingent, in tribute to their exceptional contribution to reconstruction efforts and the support provided to affected populations.
Two exceptional Moroccan convoys, mobilizing 37 pumper trucks and 103 operators, were deployed to support relief efforts and come to the aid of the Valencia region, seriously affected by storm Dana.
