Initially planned for May, the Foyer rural trip to the Dordogne finally took place last October. 35 participants had the opportunity to discover the “four Périgords” during these four days.
The first day, the visit to the Périgord pourpre began with the discovery of the Château de Monbazillac, followed by a meal in Bergerac and a visit to the old quarter. After a stop at Cingle de Trémolat and the village, the participants arrived at their accommodation in Siorac, in a quality hotel, both for accommodation and catering.
In a barge on the Dordogne
On the second and third days, a guide allowed us to delve into the small and great history of Périgord, with a visit to the Château de Castelnaud, followed by a barge ride on the Dordogne to Sarlat, under favorable skies, before the visit to the caves of Lascaux IV.
Unfortunately, the visit to the Gardens of Marqueyssac had to be canceled due to bad weather and was replaced by the discovery of a walnut oil mill and its museum.
In the “green Venice of Périgord”
On the last day, the trip ended with a guided tour of Périgueux and the discovery of the “green Venice of Périgord”, Brantôme.
This trip fully satisfied all the participants, who unanimously praised the quality of the various services: program, accommodation, meals and visits.
