Ten years after the terrorist attacks against “Charlie Hebdo” and Hypercacher, the young woman is still today the most wanted jihadist in France.
She is one of the faces of the January 2015 attacks. Where is Hayat Boumeddiene today? The jihadist fled, but 10 years later, investigators are convinced: the young woman is still alive and is hiding somewhere in Syria, holding with her the last secrets of the Paris attacks. She was radicalized by contact with Amedy Coulibaly, the man who murdered four hostages in the Hypercacher store at Porte de Vincennes, in Paris. At their home, a Daesh flag was found by investigators; they were a couple committed to radical Islam.
Before the Hypercacher attack, she would have lent her phone to Amedy Coulibaly to allow him to communicate discreetly with his accomplices. In the winter of 2014, the young woman withdrew large sums from her bank account, heading to Madrid (Spain), then Istanbul (Turkey) and finally Syria. When the first attack occurs, it is already far away. Hayat Boumeddienne thinks she is safe in Syria. In the caliphate installed by Daesh, she became a muse for the jihadists who used her in their propaganda against France. But she is unaware that the intelligence services are listening to her when she calls a friend who remained in France. After the fall of Daesh strongholds, she would still be alive and remains wanted.
