Clément Bally, 33, professional firefighter, was surprised Tuesday morning by the presence of a tree on the road near Luzarches, in Val-d'Oise.
“This morning, the Val d’Oise firefighters lost one of their own”announces the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (Sdis) of Val d’Oise. Clément Bally, volunteer firefighter at Sdis de l'Oise and corporal at Sdis du Val-d'Oise, died after a road accident that occurred between Épinay-Champlâtreux and Luzarches (Val-d'Oise) this Tuesday morning.
The firefighter, 33 years old, was going “at the La Chapelle en Serval rescue center to take care of him” this morning, specifies the Sdis de l'Oise, when it was taken by surprise by the presence of a tree on the roadway of the D316 following the gusts of wind which affected the department during the night of Monday to Tuesday. On his scooter, the man lost control of his vehicle and violently hit a heavy goods vehicle parked on the shoulder.

Another motorist, himself blocked on the main road by the tree, raised the alarm a few moments later. After being called, firefighters tried to resuscitate their colleague, to no avail. He was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 8 a.m. An investigation has been opened to clarify the circumstances of the fatal accident.
“Our most sincere thoughts are with his wife, his daughter, his family and his loved ones, whether they are colleagues or friends”writes Sdis du Val d’Oise on their Facebook page. Clement Bally was “in a civil partnership and father of a little girl born on December 25, 2024”specifies the Sdis of Val d'Oise, which paints a glowing portrait of the firefighter: “He embodied the values of courage and dedication specific to our commitment”.
