Significant amounts of snow will fall in the region until Thursday, according to Environment Canada forecasts. Between 30 and 40 centimeters of snow are expected.
Already today [mardi]Bagotville received 20 centimeters of snow. Only 3 centimeters in Roberval, but a long episode of snow is forecast for the next few days. Snow will persist tonight and into Thursday evening
explained Environment Canada meteorologist Gina Ressler in an interview on the show Public square.
The rapid accumulation of snow could complicate travel in certain places, according to the federal agency. Visibility may be reduced at various times.
Gina Ressler also mentioned that gusts of 40 to 50 km/h could blow in certain areas.
The main places affected by this accumulation of snow are the southeast of Lac-Saint-Jean, Saguenay and the north of the Laurentides wildlife reserve.
Environment Canada recommends that drivers adapt their driving according to road conditions.
It is important to be careful on the roads, on the sidewalks, on surfaces that could be slippery
emphasized Gina Ressler.
