An intense program awaits the representatives of Als Mcl: in fact, several meetings are planned between Fez and Rabat with officials of the Ugtm (General Union of Moroccan Workers).

A visit to some local companies in the agricultural and textile sectors is also planned. The meeting with the President of the House of Councilors of the Kingdom of Morocco and President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean -, Enaam Mayara, is of particular importance.

The initiative is the result of the cooperation protocol signed between Als Mcl and Als Mcl Sicilia, Consorzio Umana solidarietà scs and Ugtm de Fez, with the aim of facilitating and supporting the entry of workers from Morocco into Italian territory, but also to support businesses to meet labor needs.

Als Mcl’s attention was materialized by the Flip Marocco project presented to the Italian Ministry of Labor and Social Policies, with the aim of developing training courses to provide Moroccan workers with the necessary skills to meet market needs Italian work.

As part of this new commitment from Als Mcl, the expanded agreement with the UGTM provides for the creation of training courses to set up work corridors in the Mediterranean area, with a view to organizing professional and civic-linguistic skills for third-country nationals residing abroad.

The agreement provides that Als Mcl will be responsible for organizing training according to ministerial guidelines, identifying partner companies which will welcome trained workers and candidates, through the entry measures planned by the Italian State, and organize social housing.

The Ugtm of Fez, for its part, will have the mission of supporting and financing training courses in Morocco and recruiting potential trainees with prior experience in economic sectors of interest to the companies which will hire them in Italy.

“We are grateful to the Ugtm for organizing this three-day event in Morocco, to move from words to actions with a shared journey and mutual knowledge,” comments President Ragusa.

“We have targeted our objectives by placing decent and legal work at the center. Foreign workers in Italy play a fundamental role in the labor market, responding to a constant need for labor. However, a gap persists between labor supply and demand, as well as between the skills required and those actually possessed by workers, particularly with regard to skilled professionals.” he added.

The Flip – Morocco project aims to develop training courses to provide Moroccan workers with the skills necessary to meet the needs of the Italian labor market in the Sicily and Abruzzo regions, particularly in the cleaning service worker sectors and sanitation, versatile operators in tourist reception services and tailors.

The training program includes a technical-professional component accompanied by Italian language teaching. In addition, civic education courses are planned to give participants an adequate understanding of the fundamental principles of the Italian Constitution, the functioning of public institutions and the Italian socio-cultural context.

This agreement will facilitate the entry of Moroccan workers into Italy and meet the labor needs of Italian companies.
