The year 2025 begins with change on the menu at McDonald's in Provence. The fast food brand once again offers foreign specialties in France, after having set up a similar operation during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Called “McDo Mercato”, this operation refers to football, McDonald's being a partner of the Ligue 1 championship. Launched this Tuesday, January 7, it lasts until Monday, February 17.
A “Double Big Mac” from Switzerland
Fast-food customers will be able to taste 7 products which are usually offered in foreign countries. The McDonald's menu will thus expand Double Big Macfrom Switzerland, including four steaks instead of the usual two.
The brand will also offer a McFlurry and a Pistachio Sundaecoming from Italy, and a Green Apple McFizz came from the Middle East. She also announces the arrival of a Sugar-free Coca-Cola with Oreo flavorand melted cheddar fries et “with crispy onions“. Of the potatoes with this support are also offered.
A first operation during the Olympic Games
The specialties will be offered in two distinct menus, the McDonald's Golden Ligue 1 and the McDonald's Golden Ligue 1 Duo. Excluding the menu, it costs 7.6 euros for a Double Big Mac, 4.6 euros for the “McFlavor Fries”, 4.8 euros for the potatoes. The pistachio Sundae and McFlurry cost 3.6 and 4.4 euros respectively. The green apple McFizz costs between 2.7 and 3.6 euros depending on the size chosen, while the Coca-Cola Oreo flavor is priced at 2.9 euros.
During part of the summer of 2024, McDonald's had already offered foreign specialties in France, including a Coca-Cola with ice cream, a white garlic sauce, or even a Canadian burger with maple syrup.
The American giant announced declining results in 2024. In the third quarter, it recorded a global sales fall of 1.5%, the biggest in four years.
