New setback for Charles Ollivon. Not spared from injuries during his career, the third line of the French XV announced, Tuesday January 7, on Instagram (new window) the end of his season. The former captain of the Blues, aged 31, will undergo surgery “shortly” after seriously injuring his right knee last weekend with his club Toulon against Racing 92 (36-24).

“I have to stop doing what I love for the moment and I will have surgery soon”wrote “the great Charles”, without specifying the nature of his injury, while several media (new window) suggest a rupture of the cruciate ligament.

The images of his injury, from the 7th minute, gave rise to fears for the worst, when Charles Ollivon collapsed alone before offering a trial ball to Baptiste Serin, holding his right knee. Leaving grimacing and limping low, supported by trainers, he suspected that his Six Nations Tournament was slipping away. A package that he confirmed on the social network.
