All that remains is rubble. A two-story house collapsed this Tuesday morning in Boulogne-Billancourt (Hauts-de-Seine), in the very wealthy rue Darcel, causing several injuries.
Five workers were working in this pavilion under renovation, which collapsed around 9:15 a.m. The firefighters were immediately alerted. There were then three victims in absolute emergency with no vital prognosis. These are three workers who worked on the site. After the firefighters arrived, a second collapse occurred. A firefighter was slightly injured in this second landslide. He was evacuated.
In total, 45 firefighters from Paris were mobilized on site, equipped with 11 machines. An investigation has been opened to determine the reasons for this collapse. A representative of the Nanterre public prosecutor's office was on site with the police to observe the damage.
According to our information, the renovation work “carried out for several weeks”, in the words of the prefect of Hauts-de-Seine Alexandre Brugère, aimed to reunite this pavilion with the one located right next to it. “Originally, it was a single house which had been cut in two,” comments the mayor (LR) of Boulogne-Billancourt, Pierre-Christophe Baguet, also present on site this Tuesday morning. Underground work was also being carried out under the collapsed building.
