Culture. Despite a drop in attendance during the Olympic and Paralympic Games in the summer of 2024, major Parisian museums and tourist sites posted solid results, with some even reaching records for the year. The Louvre, with 8.7 million visitors, is approaching the figures for 2023 (8.9 million) despite a summer drop of 14%.

The Olympic cauldron installed in the Tuileries gardens, next door, contributed to the museum's global visibility, attracting thousands of spectators daily. The gradual return of Chinese visitors (6% in 2024 compared to 2.4% in 2023) also demonstrates a recovery. The Château de welcomed 8.4 million visitors, recording an increase of 2% compared to 2019, despite a temporary drop during the Games: the site hosted the horse riding competitions.

In Paris, Orsay and the Orangerie, with 4.9 million visitors, also maintained figures close to 2023 despite a difficult summer (-26% in Orsay). The Center Pompidou saw its attendance increase by 22%, reaching 3.2 million, thanks to successful exhibitions such as “Surrealism” and “BD on all floors”. Before its closure for work in 2025, the museum is benefiting from a strong revival of interest.

The sites of the Center des monuments nationaux welcomed 11 million visitors, with a peak in attractiveness at places linked to the Games, such as the Conciergerie (+40% from October to December). Paris Museums recorded 4.8 million visitors in 2024 (-8.5% compared to 2023), but the Petit Palais, part of which was invested by the hospitality of the BPCE group, reached a record with 1.4 million visitors (+22.8%).
