The Floriane depression led to the fall of a tree on a railway line and the disruption of TER train traffic between Arras and Amiens. The incident occurred this Monday, January 6, before 7:30 a.m., near Miraumont, in the Somme. A tree fell on one of the two tracks, causing the blockage of a train, near Achiet, in Pas-de-Calais, which left Arras at 8:29 a.m.
At 10:30 a.m., the adjacent track was clear, but not the one affected by the blocked train. The SNCF also informs us that with the passage of the depression, several lines were affected by traffic stoppages, but not the one between Arras and Amiens.
The falling tree also damaged the electrical installations. Traffic gradually resumed, alternating on one lane instead of two, around 9:20 a.m., informs the SNCF on its social networks.
“Traffic remains disrupted on the Amiens Arras line until 12:30 p.m.“, the railway company reported to us. It adds that the passengers of the blocked train were able to return to Amiens. They should arrive at their destination at 12:28 p.m. An intervention is underway to clear the affected track.
