Jacques Canuet, the mayor of Beauchamps (Manche) was the first mayor of the Pays de La Haye-Pesnel to present his wishes, Friday January 3, 2025.
He announced the updating of the local address database which will lead to a new addressing of the streets and paths of the municipality. “A long-term process with, in the end, new names and numbering. A letter will be sent to each resident concerned,” warned the elected official.
This work was particularly essential to facilitate access for emergency services and the connection of homes to optical fiber.
The cemetery will be greened
Other investments will be made: revegetation of the cemetery, restoration of the chapel, development of the surroundings of the church, repair of the tennis court. “An inventory allowed us to estimate the cost of revegetation at €20,000,” indicated the advisor responsible for youth and sports facilities at Granville Terre et Mer (GTM).
“We will study all co-financing solutions such as the department's Rural Investment Fund. »
Cycling races in June
The year will also be rich in events thanks to municipal associations. Beauchamps will thus reconnect with cycling races. Sunday June 1st, departmental races will be organized, in conjunction with Team Sud Manche Leukémie.
Jacques Canuet finally recalled that Beauchamps was the only commune in GTM with less than 500 inhabitants (438 exactly) to have local shops and a school (128 students educated in RPI with Folligny). He thus greeted the new bakers of the village, who arrived since November 1st.
