They had prepared their burglary carefully. Around 4 a.m. on the night of January 1 to January 2, several individuals managed to break into the Baumel armory in Marguerittes, south of Nîmes. “An extremely well-prepared theft. The burglars were equipped to cut several centimeters of armor, then a fence before seizing several dozen weapons and ammunition including weapons of war. Three Kalashnikovs demilitarized so as to no longer being lethal and considered to be collector's weapons were stolen”, a source close to the investigation confirms to France 3 Occitanie.

From the same source, it is confirmed to us that several individuals were arrested. It would be a gang from Lyon. Several individuals were arrested on Saturday January 4. The car used in the burglary was filmed by video surveillance cameras in Marguerrites before we lost track of it and it reappeared at the entrance to Nîmes.

Following the theft of dozens of weapons and ammunition from the armory, a flagrant investigation was opened by the Nîmes Research Section, under the direction of the Nîmes public prosecutor's office, for theft by an organized gang, detention and transport in assembly of category B weapons, and participation in a criminal association with a view to committing a crime.
