Météo-France has placed the entire Moselle on yellow alert for risk of strong gusts wind starting this January 6, 2025, from late morning until late afternoon. Strong winds will accompany the passage of the depression “Floriane”with gusts reaching between 80 and 90 km/hand up to 95 to 100 km/h locally, more precisely in the north of the department.
According to forecasts, the wind should decrease in intensity at the end of the afternoon, but remain strong.
THE dangers expected during a yellow alert:
- branches risk breaking
- significant damage is to be feared on light structures and temporary installations
- road traffic may be disrupted, particularly in forest areas
- some damage may affect electricity and telephone distribution networks
- endangering people who practice outdoor activities
Météo-France recommends sheltering objects sensitive to the wind, not sheltering under trees or going for walks in the forest and being vigilant on the road, by adapting the speed of your vehicle .
The rest of the Lorraine is also on yellow alert, with the exception of the Meuse department, which is on orange alert. The situation may change during the day.
