We had to wait until the 31st shot on goal, Sunday, to see the Nîmes eliminate FC Canabier in the 32nd final of the Gard-Lozère Cup
31 strikes! It was after an interminable and incredible penalty shootout, interspersed with a regrettable general brawl, that Chemin-Bas, already coming back twice in the match, qualified on Sunday for the round of 16 of the Gard-Lozère Cup.
Arbitration decisions that weighed
Canabier, who “brought desire, determination and commitment”says his trainer Noureddine Sebaikhi, can harbor enormous regrets. And rail after the decisions of a referee who sometimes seemed overwhelmed, he who realized that he had forgotten his cards when he wanted to give a first yellow (35th) and who whistled the end of the match before the last shot on goal…
Canabier finds the entry flaw. Hadraoui serves Hamadi perfectly who deceives Maurice Lecomte, caught cold (1-0, 2nd). The residents of Regional 2 react, take possession of the ball and equalize on a corner from Hiloua, taken by Eteki Schwartz (1-1, 19th).

Everything suggests that the FCC missed its chance. Nay! The locals are struggling to limit the spaces, helped by a lawn in poor condition.
A red not out and a contested penalty
In the second half, facing the sun, the Nîmes had difficulty playing. And Ibrahim Sahbani did well with a simple yellow card after an “attack” on Laffont, who left injured (63rd). Maurice Lecomte, for his part, commits a blunder which Hadraoui happily takes advantage of (2-1, 70th).
A short-lived joy as Chemin-Bas inherited a disputed penalty, the incoming Nans Larnac touching the ball with his hand in the area as he turned to avoid it. Zedghaoui does not ask any questions and equalizes (2-2, 78th).
Chemin-Bas tries to make the difference by playing behind the Canabier defense which resists and clears all the balls at the cost of many efforts.
Canabier believes he has won
In the penalty shootout, all eleven players from each team succeeded in their attempt! The rest: Hadraoui scores and his goalkeeper, Ferrando, stops Zedghaoui's shot. Canabier exults with joy. Except the local doorman didn't stay on his line. The shot on goal is to be taken and this time, Zedghaoui does not miss (12-12).
The match swings to 15-15. El Kassmi Rahab finds Nîmes doorman Maurice Lecomte on his way. The two players provoke each other, the altercation ends in a general fight and the expulsion of the two players. Ait Issa then made the shot for the (laborious) victory.
