Buzançais (R3) : 4
La Châtre (D1): 0
Buzançais and La Châtre have already had great stories in the Coupe de l'Indre with the finals on the line. This Sunday, January 5, under a spring sun and a lush lawn, the residents of R3 and D1 needed to start the year well by continuing the adventure in the cup.
The merciless Buzancean scorers
« Set a rhythm, you're asleep! » The observation is clear after fifteen minutes, from Benoit Guérin, the Buzancé coach. An observation which is also valid for his Castres counterpart, Charles Moulin, as this start to the match is boring. Still so calm, this 8e final is slow to start with two teams looking for each other and finding no solution to project themselves forward.
However, on a sumptuous opening from Jacquet, Corentin Renault wins his duel to conclude with a strike at the entrance to the surface on which Aumaréchal can only bow (1-0, 29e). A goal which has the merit of waking up both teams a little. Renault, chasing the surfaces, slides the ball deep into the Castres goalkeeper's goal following a mix-up (2-0, 38e).
Buzançais knew in his strong moments to make the difference and take cover before the break but La Châtre did not give up. A long shot from Bumba from the restart proves that Castres have better intentions. But a defensive error from Perou allows Rabier to make the break (3-0, 54e). Nothing is going well for Mercier's teammates who lose Pez to a breakdown.
With a three-goal lead on the scoreboard, the locals eased off a little, which benefited the players from the Vallée Noire with a strike from Denizot, well captured by Thibault (61e). Then on a corner from Chastang headed by Mercier (71ste).
It's Bourguignon's turn to leave the field following a nasty Castres foul punished with a warning. By giving playing time to young Diot, Penin and Champagne, Benoit Guerin, the Buzancé coach, is looking ahead to the next important derby against Vatan. Rabier qualifies at 90e + 1 on a Diot caviar (4-0). The Castres come out of the cup with a warning for their coach at (90e + 2) and will focus on the championship.
