Record Sunday morning on the Promenade des Anglais! On the occasion of the “Prom'Classic”, a road race organized at the start of the year in (Alpes-Maritimes), the Frenchwoman Sarah Madeleine exploded her personal best over 10 km. By crossing the finish line in the lead and in a time of 31″15, she equaled the French record for the distance, previously held by Liv Westphal since 2019, during the Corrida de ().

“The objective will be to achieve the best possible time,” she confided two days before the race to the specialist media Stadion. I know that I am stronger than during my very first 10 km. (…) If the legs respond well, it would be good to succeed in restarting in the second part of the race so why not give yourself the opportunity to dream of the French record. »

Objective therefore achieved for the Lyonnaise who participated in the Olympic Games this summer in the 5,000 m and who had already won in this same race last season, in just under 32 minutes (31′52″).

Among the men, it was also a Frenchman who won. Azeddine Habz, 1,500m specialist, exploded his personal best by winning the race in 27′44″ (he had achieved 28″22 in 2022 in Valencia, Spain). With this new reference time, he becomes the seventh French performer in history over the distance.
