Mireille Merten is a painter with subtle colors and with multiple multiple inspirations.
Until the end January 2025she exhibits in the boutique on the ground floor of Château Le Cerf, in the center of Mûr-de-Bretagnein Guerlédan (Côtes-d’Armor).
From the Paris region to Saint-Brieuc
There is 10 ansshe left the Paris region to settle in Saint-Brieuc (Côtes-d'Armor).
Geographical and cultural change of scenery which she completed with an artistic change of scenery: she enrolled at the School of Fine Arts.
There she learned engraving techniques (etching, drypoint) which she knew how to adapt to her own atmospheres.
She uses plates to create material effects, often plant-based; to thus tell “something other” than in his pictorial works.
Lots of colors…
She draws on her rich literary culture; Greek mythology revisited, Celtic mythology.
Her ink palette borrows a lot from her pictorial work: “I like color,” she says. And we see this in the 16 engravings exhibited at the castle…
