An estimated delay of 5 hours 40 minutes. This is what the 438 passengers of TGV Inouï n°6435 are experiencing this Saturday, January 4, 2025. Departing Paris-Gare de Lyon at 9:26 a.m., the train was expected at Bourg-Saint-Maurice (Savoie) at 2:57 p.m. But due to an equipment failure on the train, a delay of more than five hours was announced by SNCF Voyageurs.
A necessary emergency oar
This equipment failure occurred in Yonne at the end of the morning, not far between the old station of Brienon-sur-Armançon and Saint-Florentin. Passengers had to wait many hours for a rescue train to arrive. The transshipment was carried out around 3:30 p.m. using gangways to secure their passage from one train to another. They finally left around 4:50 p.m.
The gendarmerie and firefighters were alerted around 12:30 p.m. and went to the scene. Captain Mickaël Fréry notably coordinated a team of seven firefighters from the sector dispatched to the area around the train. “The temperature was correct inside the train,” said the fire chief met on the scene. Passengers were supplied by the SNCF.
By the time the emergency train arrived, traffic was disrupted at Laroche-Migennes station. Our journalist noted on site that several Régiolis trains were stopped. Traffic should gradually resume at the end of the day, with SNCF agents still near the faulty train.
