The mayor of Montpellier, Michaël Delafosse, is taking legal action after the publication of a video by an influencer of Algerian origin for “incitement to hatred”, reports Bleu Hérault on Saturday January 4. The elected official had been questioned by Internet users about a video from an influencer who has more than 138,000 subscribers on the social network Tiktok.

“Incitement to hatred is an offense as such, there is no doubt about this video, I am making a report under article 40 of the Penal Code to the judicial authority of Montpellier”writes the councilor on X.

This report follows the publication of an Internet user, who presents himself as an Algerian political activist who had taken refuge in France and who had already reported the videos of an Algerian influencer arrested on Friday January 3 in . He accuses the Montpellier influencer “doualemn”, “call for murder, apology for torture and anti-Semitic remarks”against “those who wanted to demonstrate on January 1st against the Algerian regime and a young activist”.
