Major difficulties on the roads, particularly on the A38

To limit the formation of ice as much as possible, pre-salting operations were carried out during the afternoon on most of the departmental road network, in , but also on the motorways. However, although the presence of salt makes the ice melt more quickly, it does not prevent its formation.

Consequence: the first precipitation quickly made traffic conditions difficult in the south of the department between Dijon and . Worse, “traffic is impossible” between Pouilly-en-Auxois and Sombernon, in the Pouilly-Dijon direction on the A38, according to the department's services. On the rest of the A38, conditions are delicate.

Salting operations are underway to restore the situation.

Postpone your trips

The greatest caution is therefore recommended. Adapt your driving to the traffic conditions and give priority to winter service vehicles. Earlier in the day, the Côte-d'Or prefecture invited all those who could to postpone their trips.
