We've been talking to you since this Saturday morning, January 4: the Oise has gone into orange snow and ice vigilance for the night. And as we approach this “winter episode requiring particular vigilance”firefighters from the department's 42 emergency centers are on alert.
The BFMTV teams even came to Beauvais to question the commander of the main emergency center of the town-prefecture of Oise, Ludovic Desliensin order to take stock of the system put in place for the night of Saturday 4 to Sunday 5 January.
“Alerted this morning of the orange snow-ice level alert from 8 p.m. until 2 a.m., we checked the appropriate equipment and then warned all of our drivers, he explains on the microphone of the television channel. 394 firefighters will all be stationed in the station this evening. There will therefore be no travel between home and emergency center. »
“We did not wait for this weather alert to equip ourselves, continues Commander Desliens. All light vehicles are equipped with all-season tires in the department and we have devices to protect against snow which are directly equipped on certain vehicles. »

Advice if you have to get behind the wheel
It is advisable to limit or even postpone your travels. But if you have to take the road, stay careful while driving and adapt your driving:
- reduce your speed;
- respect safety distances;
- always give priority to snow removal and salting equipment;
- and watch out for patches of ice, especially if you cross shady and wet areas.
