Limit to 50 km/h on the E411

The work, which has already been postponed, will officially begin in January 2025 and should last until August 2026. At the start of the year, we now know a little more about the expected disruptions.

The existing bridge will remain in service until the new road bridge can be put into service“, guarantees in a letter to local residents the Werkvennootschap, the public agency in charge of the site.

From January 6, 2025, night work will therefore be launched on the highway. Exit 2 will be closed for four weeks, from the end of January to the end of February: motorists will then be sent to the La Hulpe exit. In February, it will be possible to re-use the bridge towards the center of Jezus-Eik only. From February until mid-2026, the lanes will be narrowed on the E411 with a reduction in speed to 50 km/h on the E411.

The disruptions at the Léonard crossroads will get worse: “If it becomes hellish, we will take measures”

For a month, “after the end of the disruptive work at the Léonard intersection” – the date is not yet defined but the month of March is mentioned -, exit 2 leading to Jezus-Eik will be closed until November 2025.

Remember that major disruptions are expected at the Léonard crossroads in the spring. In April, after months of delay, the Waterloo-Auderghem and Auderghem-Waterloo ramps should reopen and work on the Ring should be completed. Interventions will then begin at the E411: traffic from Namur to Brussels will be reduced to a single lane at the crossroads, two lanes from Brussels to Namur.

The exit to Namur closed for 10 months

In addition to the interventions on the motorway, the center of Jezus-Eik will be impacted until mid-2026, with closures of the Willerieken drive, Vuurgatstraat and Kersenbomenlaan. Between February and November, the ramp to Namur will be unavailable, and motorists will be sent to Maleizen.

The new bridge should be put into service next November. On the public transport side, several bus lines will be disrupted in the coming weeks: 504, 546, 547, R75, R76 and R78 at De Lijn, and 543, E11, E12 and E13 at Tec.
