The Oise goes into orange snow and ice alert for the night from Saturday 4 to Sunday 5 January

First announced on yellow alert, the department of Oise is now placed on orange alert for snow and ice from 8 p.m. this Saturday, January 4 and until 1 a.m. on Sunday, January 5. Like the whole of Hauts-de- for that matter.

“Following a widespread cold air mass over the entire region (up to -6.1°C in Songeons Saturday morning)a disturbance arrives at the end of the day bringing significantly milder air, which sweeps the region from southwest to northeast, details Météo France. The meeting of these two air masses causes winter precipitation when the disturbance arrives. »

Snow then freezing rain before a « net » redoux

After Friday morning's icewe must now expect “snow followed by freezing rain. The precipitation continues thereafter but loses its freezing character. »

Indeed, if 1°C will be difficult to exceed during the day on Saturday, a « net » mild weather will arrive quickly during the second part of the night from Saturday to Sunday, reaching up to 10°C at 5 a.m. Which will therefore put an end to this “winter episode requiring particular vigilance”particularly with regard to road traffic.

The return of schoolchildren will therefore take place in often very turbulent weather this Monday, January 6. The disturbance present the day before in the northwest will indeed cross the entire country, causing rain or even a strong gale: gusts of up to 70 km/h are mentioned in the afternoon in Beauvais.
