Faced with recent rumors suggesting a possible return of Andrew Garfield in the next Spider-Man, the actor wanted to react in a long interview with GQ.
As you may know, Tom Holland will indeed be donning the Spider-Man costume in a fourth Spider-Man film. Expected July 24, 2026 in American cinemas, filming of the feature film should begin in summer 2025its main performer being currently busy with his role in the adaptation of Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey.
At the time of writing, the synopsis of this 4th opus is still kept secret. However, we know thanks to producer Amy Pascal that the film will necessarily address the consequences of No Way Home (Spoiler alert to follow). As a reminder, at the end of this third episode, Doctor Strange and Peter Parker must resolve to make an irremediable decision to repair the Multiverse: namely erase the existence of Peter Parker from everyone's memoryhis friends and relatives included.
Inevitably and like all highly anticipated Marvel productions, rumors are rife regarding the story and the possible return of certain characters. For some time now, rumors in the corridors have brought to light un possible come-back du Spider-Man d’Andrew Garfield. As a reminder, the actor reprized his Amazing Spider-Man costume in No Way Home, alongside Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire, the Spider-Man from Sam Raimi's original trilogy.

A return of Andrew Garfield's Spidey in the next Spider-Man?
And when we know that the next phase of the MCU will be centered on the exploitation of the Multiverse, we can say that a return of the other Spideys is possible. But to the dismay of the fans, Andrew Garfield just put an end to the speculation in a long interview with GQ: “I will disappoint you. Yeah, no. But I know that no one will believe anything I say from now on,” he said ironically, referring to his constant denials before the release of No Way Home.
Despite everything, the actor from Los Angeles says he is still open to the idea of reprising the role: “If it seems in tune with my soul and the project looks fun. The filmmakers also need to create something that seems complementary to the canon of that character“, he explains.
