The match started badly for Halanzy, quickly leading after a superb shot from Alexandre Laurent in the 50th second. After this cold snap, the visitors reacted, accumulating chances, but it was Valentin Vaguet, the BAT 81 goalkeeper, who stopped a penalty and kept his team in the lead. In the 10th minute, Halanzy saw the gap widen: pressing from Sylvain Ferreira allowed BAT 81 to double the lead. Although the visitors continued to try their luck, their lack of precision in attack cost them dearly.
Tintigny unfolds after the break
In the second half, Thomas Day scores 3-0 upon returning from the locker room. Tintigny then took a big advantage, with two new goals from Marvin Lenoir and Morgan Matz. The latter, who played his first official match of the season, contributed to his team’s excellent performance. Despite a surge from Halanzy with a goal from Noah Mangin, (5-1) Julien Masson made it 6-1 and Erwan Grandjean fixed the final score at 6-2.
BAT 81 is now preparing to face Seraing in the Belgian Cup on January 31, with the prospect of a match against a D1 team in the event of qualification. Note that the other Luxembourg team, NLP Halanzy eliminated Charleroi this Friday evening. There will therefore be 2 Luxembourg representatives in 1/8th scale
