Macbeth, a March 2024 creation by Silvia Costa, is back at the Comédie-Francaise. In the legendary Salle Richelieu, the tragedy adapted from Shakespeare's text can be discovered from January 24 to May 11, 2025.

Macbeth was the king of Scotland from 1040 until his death in 1507. The reign of Macbeth inspired the world of literature and the 7th art. William Shakespeare écrit Macbeth between 1599 and 1606 and only published it a few years later, in 1623. The piece has been used throughout the centuries, notably by David Garrick in 1744, and David Greig even imagine a sequel to the play in 2010 with Dunsinane. The play returns today to the Comédie-Française in a production by Silvia Costa, who is also responsible for the scenography.
Silvia Costa returns to the French Comedy After Girl's memory d’Annie Ernaux in 2023. Graduated in 2006 in Visual Arts and Theater at the IUAV University of Venice, Silvia Costa today presents his pieces in Italian and international festivals. She made her operatic debut in 2019 with Hiérophanie of Claude Vivier. Since 2020, she has been part of the artistic ensemble of the Comédie de Valence in Drôme. Silvia Costa is named, in 2022Knight of Arts and Letters by the Minister of Culture of the French Republic.
Macbeth had returned to 1985 au Directoryrepresenting all the pieces that can be played in the Richelieu room of the French Comedy. The staging of Silvia Costa is interested in the prediction, made by three witches, about the future of the general Macbeth. Obsessed by this prediction, Macbeth kills, with his wife, the king Duncan. The couple finds themselves in a spiral of guilt and the entire play gives rise to a confusion of values between good and evil.
