In Ygos, we organize outings in the Pyrenees on winter weekends, as soon as the weather permits. The club, created in 1984, generally attracts around fifty skiers per outing. He also organizes an outing for school children around Ygos. In 2024, 30 schoolchildren were able to go to the mountains thanks to this initiative.
For the first outing of the season, the club went to Cauterets. “A very beautiful day, which delighted everyone,” says co-president Nathalie Roubin. The groups are supervised by federal instructors. The Ygossa Ski Club has eight.
Prices: adult day, 49 euros; child day, 27 euros. For more information: [email protected] or 05 58 73 55 12.
2 Biscarrosse Olympique ski club
The club created in 1985 mainly focuses on teaching children to ski. Seven outings are normally organized during the winter, conditions permitting. They are also open to adults, who are not supervised, unlike children, who ski with federal instructors. On outing days, departure is at 5 a.m., returning at 9 p.m.
Like the other ski associations in the department, the Biscarrosse Olympique ski club offers attractive prices. “It’s an opportunity for the children of the Landes, who would not know skiing without it,” says the club secretariat.
Prices: adult day, 60 euros; child day, 40 euros. For more information: [email protected] or 07 82 85 20 43.
3 AS Air Base 118
The military club is also open to civilians. Every Saturday in winter, the association organizes outings departing from the Mont-de-Marsan military base. But also two ski weekends. The mornings are dedicated to lessons for the children, who join their parents in the afternoon. The courses are supervised by federal instructors from the club. If the conditions are bad, the skiing activity is replaced by another discipline, chosen when the time comes.
