Two Senegalese referees selected for the competition

The Confederation of African (CAF) has unveiled the list of referees who will officiate during the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN). Among them, two Senegalese have been selected for this competition, which will be held from February 1 to 28 in Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda.

Adalbert Diouf was appointed as central referee for the tournament, marking his first participation in an international competition. This young referee, having recently completed his training course, is part of the new rising generation in Senegalese refereeing. Issa Sy, meanwhile, was selected to officiate in the video assistance refereeing (VAR) system. Recognized for his experience in several international competitions. Senegal will not be represented only by these two referees.

The local national team, reigning champion, will also participate in this edition of CHAN. The local Lions validated their qualification by eliminating Liberia in the last round. They will try to defend their crown, acquired during the last edition in Algeria, where they won their first title in this competition reserved for players playing in their respective national championships.
