The Mohammed VI Foundation for the Reintegration of Prisoners and its partners co-organized a national hearing screening and correction campaign for the benefit of residents and former residents of penitentiary establishments.

In a press release, the Foundation specifies that this campaign, which concerned 495 residents in all penitentiary establishments at the national level, is part of the strategy drawn up by HM King Mohammed VI in favor of the reintegration of prisoners.

This initiative is also part of the agreement concluded with the Ministry of Health and Social Protection and the General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration (DGAPR) with a view to improving the provision of care. for the benefit of detainees and former detainees in penitentiary establishments, adds the same source.

Thus, 331 residents benefited from specialized consultations in otolaryngology (ENT), 184 others underwent audiometric examinations, while 87 prisoners and ex-prisoners were offered hearing correction devices. The Foundation organized a ceremony on Monday at the penitentiary establishments of Taounate and Aït Melloul, as well as at the central prison of Kénitra, during which it distributed 87 devices for the benefit of inmates and former inmates. Likewise, the Foundation will soon distribute hearing aids to other beneficiaries in penitentiary establishments, particularly in Bouizakarne and other penitentiary establishments.

This activity is part of the integrated strategy implemented by the Foundation, in accordance with the High Royal Guidelines, with a view to preserving the dignity of this category, especially since health care makes it possible to improve and optimally and securely strengthen integration into the social fabric.
