A few dozen people gathered to support the alleged victims of the sexual assaults which allegedly occurred in the street in Limoilou. The objective is also to reclaim a feeling of security in the neighborhood.
It is a response to not letting ourselves go into fear and to transcend it thanks to the community
relates one of the organizers, Madeleine Cloutier.
The organizers invited people to wear dishwashing gloves in reference to the character of Huguette Delisle in the Quebec series This is how I love you. For us, Huguette is a bit of a symbol of rebelliousness. He is a character who has decided to no longer let his toes be walked on.
explains Madeleine Cloutier.

Participants were given a short self-defense course before walking the streets of the neighborhood. These are basic tips to be able to relax if we are attacked in the middle of the street and to build trust among ourselves.
underlines the other organizer Élise Rousseau.
The gathering took place on Tuesday afternoon in front of the Circus School, the area where certain women were allegedly attacked according to anonymous testimonies published in a Facebook group of residents of the Limoilou district.
Ongoing investigation
The Quebec City Police Department is aware of the situation. He has received at least one complaint regarding an event of this type, but he does not wish to specify the number of complaints received so as not to harm the ongoing investigation.
SPVQ spokesperson Laurence Godbout encourages other possible victims to report. All complaints will be analyzed, we take it seriously
she maintains.
She is one of the administrators of the Facebook group Limoilou: our neighborhood, the best of all! who received the testimonies and published them in a way that kept the anonymity of possible victims. In these publications, women say they have had their private parts or buttocks grabbed while walking in the street.
