On the night of Saturday to Sunday December 29, 2024, a dramatic scene took place in Déville-lès-Rouen (Seine-Maritime). The police intervened on rue René-Coty, following a report of violence perpetrated on an animal.
An alarming situation reported by the protagonist herself. Arriving on site, the police saw a 24-year-old woman at her window, who confirmed to them that an incident had occurred at her home. As reported by Actu.fr, the young woman opens the door to the agents, guiding them directly into her apartment.
Without waiting, she admits to having stabbed her ex-partner's dog, a Jack Russell. His former partner, aged 35, was apparently not present during the incident. According to the suspect's statements, she acted out of anger, explaining that she had “lost a temper” and could no longer stand the animal.
A scene marked by violence
The police quickly discovered a large bloody wound on the dog, as well as traces of blood on the floor and in a bedroom. The woman admits to having used a kitchen knife to hit the animal in the thigh. She also admits to having “consumed a lot of alcohol” and to being off treatment for “nervous problems”.
In the kitchen, the officers seized the weapon, still stained with blood. The dog was quickly taken care of by the Grand-Quevilly veterinary emergencies, but his state of health remains uncertain.
Necessary support
The woman was taken to Rouen University Hospital to receive treatment. An investigation is underway to determine the precise circumstances of this act of violence and the legal consequences that could result from it.
