On the two slopes of the Frenz station (Haut-Rhin), the snow that fell around Christmas still holds. For the Mourot family, who run the place, it is time to work to welcome families who come to enjoy skiing in this small resort in the Vosges.

At the foot of the only lift in the resort, Alexandre Mourot. A pat on the back from his son, and he's ready to hit the track. Under the eyes of his grandfather François, who acquired the estate, located at an altitude of 800 meters, in the 1980s.

“It’s a family business because with snowless winters and fixed costs throughout the year, we couldn’t hire staff”explains the latter. This is how Louane Mourot, his granddaughter, spends her Christmas vacation at the station cash register.

“Every winter, we are here. I work with my father and my grandparents then I see my brother and my sister skiing on the slopes all day long. I find it beautiful! It's great because we are accomplices , we all help each other when one is eating, the other goes to the poles or to the cash register.she smiled.

His father Alexandre, who took over the family business in 2018, intends to keep the resort alive for a long time. “It's a passion! We were in it and it came together. It's for fun that we do this. Now, we'll see what happens. But as long as there's snow, we'll will always be there!”he hopes. To achieve this, the family resort intends to diversify its offerings and offer activities throughout the year.
