“A tense night brought under control by the Hérault firefighters”
On the night of December 28 to 29, the Hérault firefighters once again demonstrated their unfailing commitment to the fires which struck several municipalities. Thanks to their responsiveness and expertise, lives were saved and damage limited.
In Marseillan, a decisive intervention at 11 p.m.:
The firefighters intervened on a fire in a R+1 type dwelling adjoining a shed in a former fish farm.
When they arrived, the building was completely engulfed in flames. Two people managed to escape safely on their own. Thanks to the coordinated action of nearly 20 firefighters from Agde and Florensacthe spread to the hangar was avoided, despite the intensity of the flames.
In Béziers, a poignant human rescue at 2:30 a.m.:
A fire broke out in a mazet used as a home. Two people, affected by the flames and smoke, were quickly evacuated to the Béziers hospital center. One of them suffered burns to her face and hands, while the other suffered smoke inhalation. The fire was brought under control using a water hose, mobilizing 30 firefighters from Béziers and Sérignan.
In Puéchalier, a family protected at dawn:
At 4:50 a.m., a chimney fire mobilized more than 20 firefighters from Paulhan, Saint-Pargoire, Clermont and Le Pouget. The incident occurred in a R+2 type dwelling. Five occupants, including a 15-month-old baby, evacuated the scene before emergency services arrived. Four of them, affected by smoke inhalation, were transported to the Béziers hospital. The rapid intervention of the firefighters made it possible to contain the fire from the roof, avoiding more serious damage.
A grueling night but controlled thanks to united and determined teams. These interventions illustrate the courage and professionalism of the Hérault firefighters, always ready to protect and rescue, even in the most delicate situations. A special thought is addressed to the victims and their families, with the hope of a speedy recovery.
