A cable car installation in Veysonnaz (VS), in central Valais, broke down on Saturday. The passengers who were there had to be evacuated, indicate the station’s ski lifts on their website.

Two helicopters

We can see on the Rhône FM or Blick sites in particular images of the evacuation in progress, in particular by means of helicopters. According to the Blicktwo helicopters intervened.

“The rescue operation was spectacular. Some people were airlifted using a rope, while others were helped down by a rescuer. The latter, abseiling from a helicopter, accessed the cabins to secure the passengers. In total, two helicopters were mobilized,” reports Blick.
