The landscape of Parisian trade shows is being reconfigured. After skipping the June 2024 edition to rethink its framework and its offering, the Tranoï show, run by Boris Provost for six years, will unveil next January, during Men's Fashion Week, a “format unprecedented protean on the masculine” baptized “Tranoï Showcase”.

Meet on Thursday, January 23 at Gaîté Lyrique to discover this event designed to “highlight international creatives and collectives” and “give brands the freedom to showcase their collections themselves with performances, for example.” For this new format condensed over one day, Tranoï will bring its expertise in production, scenography and press relations to the selected brands in particular.

A first edition focused on young Japanese creation

In a desire to consolidate its relations with the Land of the Rising Sun and to highlight its little brother the Franco-Japanese exhibition called “Tranoï Tokyo” – the first edition of which last September brought together 170 exhibitors and attracted nearly 3,500 visitors -, this new “thematic event” will welcome ten young brands and emerging fashion designers from Japan to Paris.

These ten designers are winners of the Next Fashion Designer of Tokyo and the Sustainable Fashion Design Award, two prestigious awards organized and financed by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. We will thus discover the creations of Hikari Takayama, JiJi, Jun Kawamoto, Aresama Kore Sama, Kenta Nakajima, Kookaburra, Mea, New Yota, Notsuki and SoMe.

“We are going to highlight the creations of these young graduates, fresh out of school, these are ultra creative collections mixing innovations and artisanal techniques, and therefore not commercial, to allow them to meet key players in the fashion industry. tricolor and international fashion”, explains Boris Provost.

With this new chameleon concept, the Parisian salon founded 26 years ago “follows market demand” and thus intends to better adapt to “the complexity of the creative positioning on men”. “Last January and June, there were not many requests to exhibit during the Men's Fashion Weeks,” confides the manager, who “does not rule out doing a traditional show again in a few seasons” .

This first edition of Tranoï Showcase is designed as “a textbook case” to refine how to articulate the event in the Parisian fashion calendar and how to extend it internationally. It is also a sort of test with international buyers and the press, two months before the women's session at Tranoï, during Paris Fashion Week dedicated to women's fashion, which will bring together 150 brands from March 6 to 9.
