It was to begin this Saturday, December 28, 2024. However, the strike in the buses and metros of the Actuce Network in Rouen was finally suspended.
Transdev attacks strike notice
It was justice that decided this. Indeed, Transdev Rouen (formerly TCAR) launched an appeal to the administrative court to suspend the CGT strike notice, which provided for one-hour walkouts, from December 28, 2024 to September 30, 2025.
According to Transdev Rouen, this notice was “insufficiently precise with regard to the geographical scope” and was likely to create “disorganization of the company” and a “risk for the safety of people and property”. Opposite, the CGT argued on the constitutional guarantee of the right to strike, and assured that the notice was filed within the allotted time frame.
The union also recalled that in 2012, as part of a similar strike action, the emergency judge had ruled in favor of its case.
Justice suspends bus and metro strike in Rouen
But this will not be the case this time, since the current notice was judged to be less precise both in terms of the geographical scope and the ability to not disrupt the entire public service. This is why, “without commenting on the legitimacy of the movement”, administrative justice ordered the suspension of the strike.
As a reminder, the CGT intended, by this movement, to denounce the “deterioration of the working conditions of technical service agents”, “the working conditions of drivers since the establishment of services on November 4, 2024 as well as the non-replacement of employees who have retired” and “the non-application of procedures concerning the security of the entire operation of the network”.
