Stars in their eyes, young hockey players meet three Jets stars

Young Winnipeg hockey players received some surprise visitors at the Winnipeg Jets Challenge Cup, which is in full swing until next week. As they prepared to take the ice at the Hockey for all Centre, Jets stars took a few moments with them to sign autographs and inspire the next generation of professional hockey players.

A few minutes before facing the Fishermen of Selkirk, the players of the team of Canucks of Saint-James indeed received three players from the Winnipeg Jets in their locker room.

It was really cool, I got some things signedexclaims Miguel Dufort, one of the young people who will leave with indelible memories of meeting Mark Scheifele, Morgan Barron and Dylan DeMelo.

Like many of his comrades, he was able to take a photo with the three stars and have pieces of his equipment autographed that he promises to keep for the rest of his life.

The young players also received some pre-match advice from their idols, who tried to motivate the team from Jason Paseska, their head coach.

If that doesn’t motivate them, I don’t know what does. I think they’re happy, pumped up and ready to gosaid Jason Paseska moments before his team’s first match of the tournament.

My pre-match speech will be a little shorter than usual.

Later, the young people of Saint-James won against Selkirk by a score of 3-1.

This shows how much these children want to be inspired by these men and strive to achieve great thingsdit M. Paseska.

This year, the Winnipeg Jets Challenge Cup brings together 167 teams and 2,500 players from the four corners of Manitoba, but also from northern Ontario, Saskatchewan, Nunavut and North Dakota, in the United States.

For the general director of Hockey for all CentreDavid Sattler, this is an opportunity for young people to discover people from other cultures or other regions of Canada and form lifelong friendships.

It’s exciting to bring people together around sport, especially during the holiday season. Everyone loves that feeling of being together and sharing something we love.

Mr. Sattler is banking on the power of sport to teach these young people the importance of resilience and camaraderie.

You never know what spark might fly.

A quote from David Sattler, Executive Director of Hockey for all Center

At the top of the Central Division standings NHLthe Winnipeg Jets continued to make young athletes dream by offering them access to their last training session, on the eve of their game against the Ottawa Senators on Saturday evening.
